Great people great experience. We had a drive shaft vibrating on our way from Powell River going to Mackenzie, called them ,they said they were busy but come over and we’ll look at it .One hour later, a bigger problem. I should have stopped earlier maybe to save damage, this was Wednesday afternoon. They managed to squeeze the truck in on Thursday morning knowing we were stuck in Maple Ridge and I got it back Friday afternoon.. big job done.. very happy .

Did a pre-purchase inspection here and Josh was the one who served me. Amazing service, thorough checks on the car and they gave me proper technical information regarding the state of the engine that helped me make my decision. The initial agreement was to leave my car for 1h but they ended up finishing up the work in 30 minutes and charged me only for that. Great transparency and honesty, and they are not there to rob you off of your money, unlike many other mechanic shops. Would highly recommend

I took my car there for the first time to try them out. My car had an electrical issue. I am extremely happy with my experience with them. Josh was very personable. He was so thorough in explaining to me what they did to diagnose my car. They were able to identify and fix the problem. They attended to my car right away and kept me updated. Had intermittent check engine light, Downes was able to get me in quickly and found a P0171 code, and found the PVC valve assembly defective, replaced unit and car is running top notch. Service was friendly and above board, very satisfied, would go back for ANY repairs

I took my car into Downes Automotive and worked with Josh and James. They spent time trying to diagnose the issue but, unfortunately, it wasn’t something they could fix. What really impressed me was their honesty—they were upfront about it and didn’t charge me for the time they spent. That kind of integrity is rare in auto repair, and I really appreciated it. Even though the problem wasn’t resolved here, I’d recommend Downes Automotive for their professionalism and customer-first approach.

The shop was very accommodating in getting us an appointment only a couple of days away. They looked at the car and gave us a full summary of what was needed and what could wait.
