I've been plagued with a intermittent parasitic drain ever since I bought my 2007 chevy silverado 2500hd. I have had it in a few shops and nobody could figure out what was the problem. I read reviews about Downes auto repair and thought I would give them a try. I was thrilled that they found burnt wires up under dash cause by rubbing emergency brake cable. I will take my business to Downes for now on. They were upfront about every thing and I was informed about the progress. Good job guys

Uber provided. They vacuumed my car. Explain everything to the lay man. Provide knowledge. Quick service. They cross all their T's and dot all their I's. Epic service. Been living in the lower mainland for 40 years and been looking for a trustworthy mechanic shop the whole time. I found Downes Auto last year and never needed to look again.

Their Good -Richard is a great face of the business -they are very accommodating with change. -they have a large team -quick with the work These are amazing quality’s of the business I came in had a couple issues with the car. They were very accommodating with my quick requests. We did run into a couple issues with price and they were very accommodating in understanding.

I brought my car in to get my brakes fixed, I was shown what was going on, it was explained to me what was needed (brake pads & rotors). I was told in the office $80 …I am taking this as my extreme misunderstanding because to be very honest, I know nothing about cars, I tried researching different places around d Maple Ridge etc. I came back to get my car (thanks to the wonderful complimentary Uber) and invoice was $791.11 …I was absolutely floored…I left thinking ok $80 but I am assuming here they meant $80 for the parts…as I am not a confrontational person I obviously paid it, I feel like it was absolutely my misunderstanding not the fault of the employees, I just wish I confirmed things because $791.11 blew my mind and totally drained me financially 😭 but car is fixed..I feel safe driving my kids now so it is what it is!

I had the guys at Downes do a pre-purchase inspection and they did a very detailed inspection. It saved me the trouble of buying a car and dumping thousands of dollars into a car that appeared better than advertised.

I brought my car to Downes Automotive after another shop was unable to diagnose the cause of a rough idle and check engine light. Downes figured it out and had it repaired quickly for a fair and reasonable price. Great service!

I brought a 2012 Volvo to Downes that needed an inspection done. The car had been sitting for over a year and needed a couple things. Downes was great to work with. I found they were very honest, sent videos and photos of what was wrong. I found there prices to be very fair. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. If you want an honest mechanic who won’t try to pull strings on you, this will be the team for you. Thank you Downes!

A friend recommended Trevor at Downes Automotive. She said he was not only an excellent mechanic but also an honest mechanic and he could fix anything and if he couldn’t do it, he had guys that could. I had an issue with air suspension on an older luxury vehicle and I contacted 4 other mechanics in my area and they all said “sorry, we can’t help you, take it to the dealership.” Downes didn’t say that. I booked an appointment online. They had me back on the road that same day. I very highly recommend this company. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We have taken many vehicles to Downes over the years. 2019 Chevy truck, 2008 Toyota Yaris, 1956 Belair, 2002 Honda, 2009 Pontiac G3 - all were repaired with great service and fair pricing. The staff are easy to talk to, friendly, and knowledgeable. We won't go anywhere else!

I brought my recently-purchased 13-year old Lexus car to Downes Automotive last week as it wouldn’t start. It turns out it just needed a new battery. Steve asked if I wanted them to do a 45d check-up on the car, and I thought it was a great idea as I didn’t get a pre-purchase car inspection before buying the car. I’m happy and thankful that I brought my car to Downes, if only for a battery change and overall inspection. Trevor was straightforward and communicated very well on what was done and what could wait, and told me the car is in good condition overall, which was very reassuring. Thank you, Steve and Trevor, for your kind attention and great service! My car and I will definitely come back in the near future!

Great people great experience. We had a drive shaft vibrating on our way from Powell River going to Mackenzie, called them ,they said they were busy but come over and we’ll look at it .One hour later, a bigger problem. I should have stopped earlier maybe to save damage, this was Wednesday afternoon. They managed to squeeze the truck in on Thursday morning knowing we were stuck in Maple Ridge and I got it back Friday afternoon.. big job done.. very happy .

Did a pre-purchase inspection here and Josh was the one who served me. Amazing service, thorough checks on the car and they gave me proper technical information regarding the state of the engine that helped me make my decision. The initial agreement was to leave my car for 1h but they ended up finishing up the work in 30 minutes and charged me only for that. Great transparency and honesty, and they are not there to rob you off of your money, unlike many other mechanic shops. Would highly recommend
